New England Patriots Vicotry over the Buffalo Bills
With Rex Burkhead scoring twice, the New England Patriots managed to win their eight games in a row. This happened when they overcame the Buffalo Bills 23-3 and continued their supremacy over the AFC East rival.
The QB Tom Brady managed to get 21 of 30 for the 258 yards, along with an interception. This further improved to 27-3 over the Bills, clearly influencing the general Patriots odds against the Bills. This also led to him breaking the NFL record made by Brett Favre for most wins by a quarterback against a single opponent.

Favre managed to get 26 wins over the team from Detroit. Brady only had to stand aside and let the rejuvenated Patriots rushing attack slowly take down the Bills defense. Dion Lewis had made 92 yards while rushing and Burkhead managed to get 78. All of this allowed New England (10-2) to win their 14th consecutive game on the road and the second-longest streak in the history of the league. They are also attaining these double-digit victories for the 15th season in a row.
The Bills (6-6) lost the game, but also jeopardized their starting QB, Tyrod Taylor. He was taken off the sideline with a suspected left knee injury. The extent of the injury is unclear, but he soon began using more of his right leg. Nathan Peterman stepped in and stalled the Patriots somewhat, but it did not make much difference in the end. One of the players who put a stop to this by batting a pass intended for Zay Jones was the Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
Gilmore played for the Bills for five years before he signed with the Patriots. Peterman ended the game with 6 of 15 for 50 yards, with this being his first appearance in the first half since the game against the LA Chargers on November 19.
All of this showed that the Bills are sorely lacking in offensive capabilities and their coach Sean McDermott will have to do something about their starting QB. Also, the game was tense with multiple flags being thrown after TreDavious White, Bills rookie, intercepted one of Brady’s passes.
The target was Rob Gronkowski, who then decided to pound White, who was at that moment already on the ground. This led to scuffles and widespread condemnation of Gronkowski behavior. Bills Micah Hyde and Patriots Danny Amendola had to be separated after they exchanged a few shoves.
The Bills also tried to introduce some tricks to boost their offense, essentially by using the third-string QB Joe Webb in a couple of wildcat formations. This led to three rushes for 27 yards and find snaps after that, Webb overthrew a pass which target was Travaris Cadet. In the end, the tricks did not help.
At the same time, New England’s nine points made in the first half were the fewest made by the team since their 16-0 loss to Buffalo in 2016. The 130 rushing yards made by the Patriots in the first half were the most made by the team since 2014. Back then, they created 141 rushing yards to get a 42-20 win over the Colts.
Next, the Patriot will play Miami on December 11 as their second of three games on the road. The Bills will continue their three-games at home by hosting Indianapolis on December 10.
